I was longing for a trip of vacation kind to some place for quite some time now, but the biggest constraint was time & companionship....with whom and to where I could have gone on a weekend for some relaxing time & fun.
As I had been living in Pune (actually Pimpri Chinchwad area of Pune) for over a year now<,I had some destinations to go like Mahabaleshwar, Shrdi, Lonavala all very much nearby to Pune but top on to that list was place that is "Dream Destination of Vacation in India---thats <GOA>>..." But being single & having not much friends around (due to my job) I was not able to decide with whom I can go cause I heard being alone in Goa is kind of freaky...!!!
Though as they say Opportunity do come & so it came my way too in form of Abhay (my colleague) informing & inviting me to a trip to Goa with his some friends frm college days & I being wiser one responded affirmatively.
We (4 of us including Abhay, his 2 friends & me) left for Goa on Thursday night by a bus. Bus service from Pune to Goa is good & takes approx. 9 hrs to reach Goa. As we all were visiting Goa for the first time we do not know exactly where to get down. But luckily we got down at Mapusa which lies in North Goa.
we were in Goa for 2 full days and we spent max. of ur time on beaches and nearby areas. The things said about Goa beaches are all true, they are beautiful open & great place to have fun around. We too had great fun and superb relaxing time at Goa. As we do not knew anything about Goa...where to visit and where not to we took help from our hotel guy who recommended us the places.
We visited following places,
1. Calangute Beach (One of most popular in Goa)
2. Bagga Beach (Good hangout places)
3. Vagator Beach (Graet Realaxing place but less crowd)
4. Anjana Beach (Good joints for party in night)
5. Chapora Fort (Old Portugese Fort--Indian movie Dil Chahata Hai had scenes from this fort)
some pictures are as below,
Whenever you visit Goa keep I would like you to recommend following tips for you,
1. Book your hotel in advance from good sites.
2. The hotel you book check its review and then finalize.
3. Take recommendations from Hotel Reception about the places to visit, they are helpful.
4. Bikes & Scooters & cars (self driven) are easily available but it will be better if you take it through Hotel.
5. Do test drive the vehicle before finalizing it.
6. Beware of people offering lucrative deals for various things.
Also if you visit Goa do visit these places,
1. Colva Beach
2. Marjim Beach
3. Vagator Beach
4. Anjana Beach
5. Calangute Beach
6. Bagga Beach
7. Old Light House
8. Chapora Fort
9. Some Churches in Old Goa are also worth visiting.
At last but not the least, if you do want to carry FENI (Famous Local Alcoholic Drink) out of Goa you would require a permit. So always when you purchase FENI ask for permit and better for you to ask your hotel manager to get the same for you.
All the Best...!!!
Cheers..!!!
Happy Journey & Great time in Goa...:)
