Chapter 7: The unlawful experience

Commencement of Test

The big green vehicle (MPV) on which the test was to be conducted emerged from the gate with couple of more cars behind it. A white Maruti 800 and a Silver Maruti Esteem. These cars I guessed were of the representative of the company of whom the systems were going to be inspected

The MPV (Mine Protected Vehicle) came out and pulled over after 100 meters. Around 6 people came out from cars and after some chit chatting boarded the vehicle. I recognized two of them, one had came to our workshop for inspection the systems while we were in assembling stage and other one was the representative of the other party whom I met at an exhibition around month and a half ago, one more person I guess was his boss as he was taking instructions from him. One out of them all seemed to be most important as he came by his own car iconic white "Ambassador" a bit later, and was greeted by all including the representative and his boss.

This important person who should have been GM of Purchase or Technical as per my guess took the front seat with the driver and other six went to the back of the vehicle to board from the back gate.

But what was most amusing to me were the tyres fitted over the vehicle, they were our tyres i.e. they these were our Runflat Wheel Assemblies. I work over them everyday and I had that confidence that I can identify those from over that distance of 500 meters too. Now it was a question that what is being done, test was for other party systems but here on the vehicle our systems were fitted and rolling.

The vehicle started moving and I kept quiet for the time till it passed away and took a left turn jsut beside me and started on the main road, I was relaxed as no one seemed to notice the white car standing just round the corner.

I asked the driver to start the engine and follow the vehicle,

Me: Follow that truck
Driver: Emi
Me: Car start...Follow... Green truck....; I felt helpless now.
Driver: ok
Me: Don't cross the vehicle keep distance of 100 meters.
Driver: ok

After around 500 meters the vehicle started speeding up and we were left behind, I asked the driver,

Me: Drive Fast.
Drvier:-------
Me:Tej chalao...!!!
Driver: E
Me: I will go Mad....!!!
Driver: E

Thus I started pointing out my finger on speedometer, but then also he didn't seem to understand so I took my finger to the needle of speedometer and from 40 kmph pointed to take needle to 80 kmph. Driver was unfazed and I was lot more frustrated.

But after couple of seconds he seemed to understand and the needle on speedometer moved from 60 kmph.
We were following the vehicle from a distance of around 200-250 meters. The roads was curvy with ups and downs. We were losing the view of vehicle every now and then so I again asked the driver to speed up in the way by pointing at speedometer.

We had covered around 1.5 kms on the road and the vehicle was just 200 meters ahead moving on our own systems though test was for other party systems. I doubted if it was the vehicle on which the test was to be done, what if there is some other vehicle on which the test was to be conducted and it didn't came out till now and am following the wrong vehicle.

Visit to HCL, Malanjkhand

On 20/6/2012 I visited one of the Asia's biggest Copper Mines in Malanjkhand, Balaghat. It is situated in MP and has border to Chattisgarh. To reach the site I traveled in Scorpio CG 04 HB 8999 which i hired as taxi. Took Scorpio to tackle the great Roads to Malanjkhand and the monsoon rains.  The MCP (Malanjkhand Copper Project) was initiated in 70's and has now grown to one of the biggest in Asia. I had two objectives while visiting the site one was to participate in the Tender issued by HCL for OTR Tyres and other was to inspect APOLLO tyres which we had supplied to one customer IVRCL who is working for HCL in the project. The mine itself is in two phase, work in one phase is done by HCL itself and in one phase two other contractors works IVRCL and RK Transport. The Copper ore excavated is of one the highest quality in India and the mine is yet to be explored full so I guess it would go on working till next50-70 years more and thus providing essential ...

Trip to Lonavala-Jan'14

Living in Pune gives you an advantage to visits various nearby places & to indulge with nature. Several famous vacation destination are with 100 km range that you can go different places each weekend. For me Travelling to various interior areas of India being one of my occupational responsibility I prefer to spend quite weekends at my room or at a friends place doing nothing or anything, rather travelling to these places. But sometimes I do get freinds from other cities to visit these nearby places for weekend and I along with them visit them. Similarly I visited Lonavala in Jan'14 with couple of friends. LONAVALA is small hill station which finds its place at the middle of Mumbai-Pune Express Highway, It is kind of equidistant from Navi Mumbai (Khargahr) & Pune. Myself living in Pimpri Chinchwad which is towards nearer to Lonavala so its only 1.5 hrs drive to this place. Basically the best time to visit Lonaval;a is after August (during & after monsoon season). ...
